Andrew and María's Puzzling Love Story is not the usual love story. It is the story of two lonely international pen pals who correspond for years. María in Mexico writes in beautiful poetic Spanish. (translated into English for this book) and Andrew from the US Midwest writes in his self -t aught Spanish too. At some point they fall in love. This unlikely romance has its share of challenges. He is an eccentric and daring man where she is a timid “raised in a convent” maiden. Her nun aunt and only relative would NOT allow her niece to marry a divorced man, non- Catholic and a (gasp) “Gringo”. Does the dear aunt even know about Andrew? Why does iher opinion matter so much to María? María’s terrified to even discuss the subject with her. Will her aunt ever consent to their relationship? Can they ever overcome their cultural and philosophical differences? Their geographical distance?
